Citable Privacy Policy
Citable ("the extension") does not collect, transmit, store externally, or sell any user data.
What the extension does
Citable analyzes the currently active webpage to score how likely AI search engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews) are to cite it, and returns a prioritized list of improvements to the user.
How your data is handled
- All page analysis runs locally in your browser. A content script executes only when you click the Citable toolbar icon on the active tab. It reads the page's existing HTML, metadata, and structured data to compute the score.
- Audit history stays on your device. The page URL, score, and timestamp of each audit are saved using
chrome.storage.local. This data never leaves your machine. You can clear it at any time by removing the extension or clearing the storage from the browser's extension settings. - No Citable servers. The extension makes no network requests to any Citable-owned backend. There is no account, no sign-in, no telemetry.
- Same-origin checks only. The extension performs two fetches to the same origin as the audited page —
/robots.txtand/llms.txt— which your browser would already make for any ordinary web request. No other network activity is initiated. - No analytics, no tracking, no third-party scripts.

The extension does not request host_permissions and does not read data from tabs you have not explicitly audited.
Data we collect
None. Citable does not collect personally identifiable information, health data, financial data, authentication credentials, personal communications, location, web browsing history, or user activity off of your device.
Sharing and sale
Citable does not share, sell, or transfer any user data to third parties.
